Charmy-chan est fabriquée et vendue par Kodama Sangyo depuis les années 1960, et continue d'être fabriquée à Tokyo. Charmy-chan est désormais vendue non seulement au Japon, mais aussi en Europe et dans d'autres pays asiatiques comme articles de mode et de décoration intérieure rétro de l'ère Showa.
